Oak Bay High Cheerleaders

 

WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE OAK BAY CHEERLEADERS!

2002/03 is our first season as a squad and we are very proud to say that we recently competed in North Vancouver at Argyle High School. We wish a special thanks to the Argyle Pipers for hosting us and we hope to return next year!

The Squad's History:

    The founders of the squad are Julie and Sarah, our captains. Last September, they approached the school in hopes of beginning a new squad. Luckily, they were allowed and encouraged to start this new team. Tryouts were held and they managed to form a great team. Our sponsor, Ms. Sandra, helped the team from the very beginning. We performed at the school's first assembly and wowed the crowd, leading them on in our historical cheer; Green and White. Our second big performance was at the fall Evening of Dance. This event went just as successfully. However, as the team grew more advanced, safety became more and more important.

    By December, they decided to look for volunteer coaches, and found two great ones; Morgan and Katelin. Without the help of each of these people, our squad would not be as successful as it is today. Unfortunately, in early March Morgan resigned due to her busy schedule, but we still appreciate everything she has done for us.
